Ranking Ben and Jerrys flavors 25-21

With this we will round out the bottom half of my rankings and move into the top half next time.

25. Americone Dream: This flavor inspired by Stephen Colbert was much better than I anticipated. Vanilla Ice Cream with a Caramel Swirl and fudge covered waffle cone pieces. The Caramel Swirl pushes this one higher as it was delicious, as are all the Ben and Jerrys Flavors that incorporate a caramel Swirl. I am not a fan of waffle cones at all so I thought Id hate this one but the fudge coating made me enjoy it enough to push it this high in the ranking.

24. Mint Chocolate Cookie: Mint chocolate chip is probably my favorite "classic" ice cream flavor. Unfortunately Ben and Jerrys doesnt offer it, instead incorporating cookie instead of chocolate chips. The cookies are pretty good, but the mint flavor is way to subtle, and part of the fun of mint flavors is the green color, which this flavor lacks.
23. Cake Batter: I really wanted this flavor to be amazing, but all it is is cake batter ice cream with chocolate icing swirl. The batter flavor was too subtle, and I would have preffered vanilla icing swirl and/or cake pieces within the ice cream. One of those two things would have improved this flavor significantally.
22. Strawberry Cheesecake: The third of four cheesecake flavors, only one left now. The Graham cracker swirl in this one is actually too potent, the exact opposite of my gripe from the Blueberry cheesecake flavor. Somewhere in the middle between those two would be optimal, and the number one cheesecake flavor on this countdown does that. The strawberry flavor is great, but the actual strawberry pieces are hard to eat frozen, like nearly impossible, ruining it a bit.
21. Rockin Blondies: A new flavor for 2013, vanilla ice cream with blondie brownies and toffee pieces. This flavor replaces one of my favorites, coming up later in the countdown, and it was comparably disappointing. Blondie brownies are pretty bland when incorporated in ice cream, and the toffee pieces are way to subtle compared to another flavor that incorporates them coming up later on the countdown.

Ranking Ben and Jerry's flavors 30-26

We are still in the bottom half of the flavors, but they are getting better. Here are flavors 30-26 of the 40 Ben and Jerrys Flavors Ive tried.

30. Blueberry Vanilla Graham: Technically this isn't ice cream, its one of Ben and Jerrys flavors in their new frozen yogurt line, the first of three frozen yogurt flavors on this countdown, and therefore my least favorite. The vanilla tastes just like a vanilla yogurt, which is a little to tart for me, ad the blueberry tastes good, but where this flavor falls short is the lack of graham cracker. More graham cracker would have propelled this flavor way higher in the rankings.

29. Chunky Monkey: Banana ice cream with fudge chunks and walnuts. One of ben and Jerrys top selling flavors, falls into the too bland category for me. While the Banana flavor ice cream is delicious, Im not a huge fan of fudge chunks, and really not a fan of any kind of nuts in my ice cream.

28. Chocolate Nougat Crunch: Sweet cream ice cream with a nougat swirl fudge covered wafer cookies. at first taste I found this flavor amazing, but after that it was a let down. the sweet cream ice cream flavor became increasingly unbearably sweet and the wafer cookies were dissapointing, as I was anticipating a kit kat like flavor, but didnt get it. The nougat swirl was great, but as well see later in the countdown, there a better flavor that incorporates it.

27. Cheesecake Brownie: Cheesecake ice cream with brownies. Sounds incredible right? well it was good, but it could have been so much better. The brownies are much smaller than the Brownies in other Ben and Jerrys flavors that feature them, and the lack of graham cracker that is in every other cheesecake flavor of Ben and Jerrys makes this all too bland. Good, but so much potential wasted.

26. Cherry Garcia: Ben and Jerrys #1 all time selling flavor ultimately is a little to bland for my ambitous tastes. Cherry Ice cream with fudge flakes and cherries. I love cherries, and these huge cherries in this flavor are amazing, but besides that its just cherry ice cream with some chocolate, not to exciting for me.

Ranking Ben and Jerrys Flavors 35-31

Part two of my rankings of every Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream flavor Ive tried continues

35. Truffle Trifecta: This flavor as chocolate ice cream with Marshmallow, Caramel, and fudge truffles mixed in. It sounds delicious and wasnt bad at all, just boring. One of the few unexciting Ben and Jerrys flavors there are. No surprises, just choclate ice cream with the ocassional truffle mixed in. Yawn.

34. Peanut Butter Cup: Peanut Butter Ice cream with peanut butter cups. Another straightforward flavor that suffers from its own blandess. My biggest issue with this flavor is the peanut butter cups mixed in are rock hard and frozen, making it a chore to eat this flavor.

33. Blueberry Cheesecake: The first of four Cheesecake based flavors, and thus my least favorite. The problem with this one is Cheesecake flavor is so overpowering over the blueberry flavor that I dont taste any blueberry at all unless I close my eyes and concentrate real hard. Also, the graham cracker in this one is weak compared to the other cheesecake flavors.

32. S'mores: A flavor based off the popular campfire treat sounds like a great idea, but unfortunately the chocolate flavor overpowers the marshmallow and graham cracker flavor so much that it doesnt taste like much of a s'more at all.

31. Late Night Snack: Deep down I knew this wasnt my kind of flavor, but my curious side had to try it. Vanilla Bean Ice cream with chocolate covered potato chips. Potato chips in ice cream sounds gross to me and while its wasnt as repulsive as I feared it might be, it still wasn't all that good either. The saltiness mixed with vanilla was decent for a few bites, but then became to much.

We have now gotten through the bottom ten flavors of Ben and Jerrys ice cream that I have tried. Next time we'll countdown 30-26, not the worst flavors Ive tried, but still far from the best.

Ranking Ben and Jerrys Flavors # 40-36

Even though this is technically a theme Park blog I reserve the right to go off on a tangent and do whatever I want with it. I have decided that for the time being I am going to turn this into a countdown blog, counting down my favorite thing such as foods, movies, tv shows, rides, etc. starting today.

Now I am a relatively skinny person, at least for the time being, but despite this I still have a very big sweet tooth, especially for Ice Cream. I have had a love for Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream for the past two years or so and over the past two years I have tried 40 different flavors. Some of these flavors are absolutely delicious and have earned many repeat buys, some of them have been so gross I wont ever touch them again. Those are the ones we'll be talking about today as these are #40-36, the bottom five, of the Ben and Jerrys flavors that I have tried.

40. Creme Brulee: This flavor was so nasty that I didnt even make it past a first spoonful, honestly. I remember vividly when I tried this, August of 2012, and I still remember the gross flavor it had. This ice cream based off the french desert was supposed to taste like sugar and caramel but just tasted way to artificially sweet. This flavor has since been discontinued so I guess I wasnt the only one not fond of it.

39. Pina Colada: This limited edition flavor available as a summer flavor in summer 2013 based off the popular drink was another disgusting flavor to me. Coconut ice cream with pineapple chunks is the description. the ice cream flavor was pretty bland, resembling not a coconut at all to me. The pineapple chunks were rock hard, Ben and Jerrys usually does a good job of making sure their food mix ins dont have a frozen texture despite being in ice cream but this time they didnt. I made it past one spoonful, putting it above Creme Brulee, but I still didnt make it through even one full scoop. This flavor was supposed to be a limited edition flavor for the summer but we are in January and it is still available in many stores because it has sold so poorly.

38. Cannoli: Another limited edition flavor available from November 2012 through March 2013, I at least made it through half a pint of this one. Based off the italian desert this flavor was very sweet, and had mini cannoli pieces with the marscapone ice cream. It was an OK flavor, but the overly sweet nature of it made it hard to get through a bowl. Unlike the previous two flavor on this list however, I am in the minority on this one as most of the public loved this flavor.

37. Boston Cream Pie: Yet another flavor based off of a popular desert. Another flavor that was way to sweet, and the syrup inside made to resemble the filling of one of these pies was pretty gross.
36. Volun-Tiramisu: Yet another flavor off a popular desert, with a volun prefix to promote volunteering. the Tiramisu flavor was very much like coffee which isnt really up my alley.

Next time the countdown will continue with 35-31

First Rumor surfaces for Halloween Horror Nights 2014!!!!

We are just a little over a month past HHN 2013 ending, and it isn't even Christmas yet, but Halloween Horror Nights planning is in full swing already and a juicy rumor has already made its way to the forefront. This is a very early time for the first real rumor to surface as the rumor stove usually heats up around February. But here we are with HHN 280 days away (Yes Im counting) and a rumor sure to spark excitement and controversy among hardcore Halloween Horror Nights fans has come up.

According to this rumor, Jack the Clown will be making a return next year. Over the past 23 years Universal has created many original characters for Halloween Horror Nights, the Caretaker, the Story Teller, etc. but none has been more popular than Jack the Clown. Jack is known as the most popular HHN character ever. Since he debuted in 2000, he has also appeared at HHN in 2001, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010, but has not appeared since 2010. After 2010, the HHN directors came out and said Jack would be going away for awhile, but it appears he may be coming back sooner than many would have anticipated.

If true this would be sure to cause controversy among the HHN die hards. Some would certainly feel its too soon to bring back Jack, while others would be elated to have him back. Personally, I'd love for any of the old characters to come back, especially after the last two years featured nothing in terms of original characters.

This rumor further makes since when you consider that at this years HHN, a jack vinyl figure was sold, despite him not being a part of the event this year. Looking back, this may have been a way for the HHN directors to gauge how popular Jack still was, and sales were not surprisingly through the roof.

its important to remember its still only December, so all rumors must be taken with a grain of salt. But past history has taught us that the first major rumors leaked usually tend to be true.

House Count After Week 6 of HHN

It was so nice to be at HHN this week in a sweatshirt and jeans, it has a much more Halloween like feel to it when the weather is cool

Walking Dead: 10
La Llorona: 23
Afterlife: 13
Havoc: 22
Evil Dead: 16
American Werewolf: 18
Resident Evil: 10
Cabin in the Woods: 15

Total: 127

Bill and Ted: 9

Well, here we are. Another year of Halloween Horror Nights about to hit its end. Only three nights left, Thursday through Saturday. Of course the highlight of Halloween Horror nights occurs at the very end of it, in the final Bill and Ted show of the year. This will be my third year in a row attending the final Bill and Ted and I am so excited for it to be here again. The last Bill and Ted of the year is a time where all the die hard fans of Halloween Horror Nights can get together and enjoy one last hurrah until next September. Before that however, I need to get a few more run throughs of my favorite houses. I ended up falling in love with 4 houses this year, Cabin in the Woods, American Werewolf, Evil Dead, and La Llorona, they will be missed.

House Count After Week 5 of HHN

19 Nights of HHN in the books, only 8 remain. Unlike the previous two years, there is a lot more seperation between my house counts. Theres already a gap of 12 this year between the house Ive been through the most and least, compared to nine last year and 10 the year before. This past week was crazy busy, triple digit waits at many of the houses, and these next five nights will likely be very busy as well before things really slow down for the final 3 nights.

Walking Dead: 9
La LLorona: 21
Afterlife: 11
Havoc: 18
Evil Dead: 13
American Werewolf: 15
Resident Evil: 9
Cabin in the Woods: 12

Total: 108

Bill and Ted: 8

The thing that has been hurt most by the Red Sox run is my Bill and Ted count. The past two years I saw it 23 times each, this year it's only been 8 because of the reduced time spent at HHN due to watching the Red Sox games.
